My name is Brenda. As an American-born-and- raised permanent resident of Japan, I would love to help you improve your English skills.

 

During my college days in the U.S., I met many Japanese students and developed a love for Japan. After obtaining a B.A. in English and an M.A. in the Teaching of Languages, I came to Japan and have since spent about 20 years teaching English here. I also have experience editing children's curriculum and teaching EFL (English as a Foreign Language) in the United States.

My husband is a wonderful Japanese man, so I also have lots of practice speaking Japanese! Although I still have a lot  to learn, I can speak basic conversational Japanese.

​

My hobbies include reading, playing the piano, and a little bit of gardening. I am an animal lover, and since childhood, I have had the opportunity to own dogs, cats, parakeets, and a rabbit. Of course, I very much enjoy talking with friends in both English and Japanese!
